The Liscawn dates back to the reign of Edward II. (1307 - 1327) when it was conveyed to Nicholas Scawen and Lady Matilda. We are led to believe that Liscawn means 'House at the head of the valley of the Elder.' In later years it changed ownership many times but remained a farm house until the 1950s when it was converted into a private club, then a guest house, and, finally, a Public House and Hotel. My husband and I moved here in1995 and began the process of re-building the, near-derelict, main building, converting the barn, creating an outdoor eating area, providing a play park for children etc. Our 3 children were born and raised here so we can really call it a true family business. We are devoted to running The Liscawn as a home from home for our loyal regulars and future special guests.
